October Is Brakes for Breasts® Month and That Means Free Brake Pads

Did you know that breast cancer is the second most fatal cancer for women? Nearly 50,000 women died of breast cancer in 2019. This devastating disease can affect men, too. We here at Buellton Garage support cancer research and cure development. Specifically, we participate annually in the October Brakes for Breasts® fundraiser. This fundraiser is not only beneficial in financing breast cancer vaccination research and development, but it is also beneficial to our customers who need new brake pads. Let’s talk more about this below.

What Is This Fundraiser?

This fundraiser is put on by an organization called Brakes for Breasts®. Along with us, this organization works with hundreds of other independent auto service shops to make the month of October a way to bring additional funding in For the Cleveland Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund. This fund is currently supporting the research for the development of a breast cancer vaccine. Can you imagine the benefits of a successful vaccine? Women will no longer have to fear breast cancer. We support Brakes for Breasts® by participating in this fundraiser each October.

How the Fundraiser Works

Bring your vehicle into our shop for a brake inspection. If your automobile needs new brake pads, Brakes for Breasts® will pay for the pads. That’s right. You will not have to pay for your new brake pads throughout October if you bring your automobile to our shop. The only thing you will have to pay for is our labor when we install the free brake pads.

On top of this, any other services that you have done to your automobile while it is in our shop qualify for this fundraiser. Assume for a moment that you do take advantage of the free brake pads and only pay for our labor. Let’s also assume for a moment that you decide to have a coolant flush and an oil change done, as well. 10 percent of your total bill will be donated to Brakes for Breasts® for the Cleveland Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund, but the best part out of all of this is you didn’t have to pay for your brake pads.

Every 30,000 Miles

Generally, your brake pads should be changed every 30,000 miles, so if it is been that long since your last brake pad change, October is the perfect time to have this service done. Again, you won’t have to pay for the brake pads themselves; only our labor to install them. Plus, 10 percent of your total bill will go to a worthy cause.
